We simply could not survive without our fundraisers. We have regular fundraisers who run annual events to raise funds towards the general running costs of our charity. Others choose to fundraise in memory of a friend or family member and may fundraise for a new piece of equipment they wish to purchase for Thomley. Whether you want to run a marathon, cycle to Paris or organise a tea party, we welcome your support & will do all we can to help you help us.

Here are some of our fundraising stars from 2017. Thank you for making a difference!

George Anderson, our Sports Ambassador, first became involved with Thomley in 2010.

He has undertaken a number of physical challenges in the past 7 years to fundraise for us. Notably in 2014, he completed 10 marathons in 10 days and in June 2017 George completed Endure24, running over 100 miles in 24 hours. When George isn’t fundraising for Thomley he is is a coach, presenter, writer and motivator.

Adam Wootton, a local professional golfer hosted a Golf Day in memory of his friend Johnny Stevens in July 2017 to raise funds for Thomley.

Johnny, whose nephew is a regular visitor to Thomley, died in a tragic road traffic accident in 2016. Adam and a group of Johnny’s friends choose to mark the first anniversary of Johnny’s death by raising funds for Thomley. The golf day raised over £10k which is being spent on the purchase and installation of a train which will be enjoyed by all our young visitors as well as Johnny’s nephew. A fitting tribute to Johnny’s memory.

Nathaneal Smedley, a regular visitor to Thomley for many years, choose to celebrate his 23rd Birthday here with a party for family & friends. Instead of gifts he asked his guests to make a donation to Thomley & raised over £1,000. All of us here are touched by his generosity & enjoy seeing Nathaneal every week.
